Brandience Wins in the 61st American Graphic Design Awards with Skyline Chili

Brandience secures another win, and this year two, in Graphic Design USA’s 61st American Graphic Design Awards™. This time, it’s with our partner, Skyline Chili.

The American Graphic Design Awards™ is a prestigious contest celebrating outstanding work across all print, digital, and interactive media, open to everyone in the design community.

We are happy to be celebrating this achievement for work done in partnership with Skyline Chili for their 75th Anniversary and a limited time offer, the Skyline Float.

Skyline Chili 75th Anniversary Integrated Marketing Campaign

Skyline Chili is a regional restaurant chain, known for their unique menu focused on Cincinnati-style chili. As a key part of the 75th Anniversary of the beloved establishment, the ‘Coney Hunt’ campaign was created as an integral part of the celebration.

The advertising campaign promoted an augmented reality game/app that drove foot traffic into restaurants and grocery stores where customers collected virtual Cheese Coneys that could be redeemed for exclusive Skyline merchandise. Campaign elements included logos for the 75th Anniversary and Coney Hunt, outdoor billboards, digital display ads, direct mail, various custom-branded merchandise, social media content including static and video and more.

Skyline Float POP Display

As part of their rotating specialty menu, Skyline Floats were introduced for a limited time as a sweet treat for the summer that paired perfectly with their most popular food items - Coneys and Ways.

The seasonal offering combined the nostalgia of a classic root beer float with a modern twist that gave the option to pair the ice cream and whipped topping with other iconic beverage selections.

Several pieces of dimensional POP were created including window clings, drive-thru menu toppers, ceiling danglers and dimensional counter cards where the logos and float images were seemingly “floating” from the signage.

The imagery for the Skyline Floats was created to turn heads and grab attention while still complementing the original Skyline brand. Using bold pops of color, a light and airy script font and mouthwatering product photography, the sub-branding and POP gave a fun and carefree summer vibe perfect for encouraging customers to cool down from the summer heat and indulge in a delicious Skyline Ice Cream Float.
